Annual Inspections and On site Recharging

Our service unit is equipped with a 1000 lb hydrotest station, recharge machine, regulated dry nitrogen for recharging, air compressor, cylinder vice and scales.  In most cases dry chemical is reused during six and 12 year maintenance.  Used extinguishers are recharged with the proper powder or liquid.

NFPA 10 covers Portable Fire Extinguishers.  Inspection requirements range from monthly inspections by staff to annual inspections by trained technicians.  Every six years stored pressure fire extinguishers shall be emptied and subjected to the applicable manintenance procedures.  Every 12 years portable fire extinguishers must be discharged and hydrotested by trained personnel.
