Duct Access Panels

NFPA 96 regulations require approved duct access panels every 12 feet on horizontal ducting.  As well, all changes of direction must have access panels.

Grease ducting can be one of the least noticed fire hazards in a restaurant.  Improper, or old installations, don’t allow visual inspections of grease ducts.  When that occurs, many cleaning companies just run a bit of water through it and call it clean.  You pay the same, they leave the grease.  By having duct access panels it allows for proper cleaning, and more importantly, proper inspection.
